Tracy Jones CPA

Tracy Jones

As President and Founder of Tracy Jones CPA, LLC, Tracy Jones specializes in tax planning and CFO services for small business owners. She is a Certified Public Accountant who works closely with industry leaders to stay on the cutting edge of technology and tax planning strategies.

Tracy earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Stephen F. Austin State University in 1995. She pursued her graduate degree, earning a Master of Professional Accounting degree from University of Texas at Arlington in 1999. Her career in public accounting began at PricewaterhouseCooper and she also gained vital experience working in the private sector.

With the combined experience, her drive grew to help small business owners ensure accurate and timely financial information. In 2011, she started Tracy Jones CPA, LLC to do just that.

“Our core values are founded on a highly ethical practice with integrity and accuracy,” she shares. “Client satisfaction means a lot to me.”

A family-friendly firm, Tracy is married to Jack Jones, ChFC, CFP. Together, they share the passion of unparalleled client service, have two boys, and love to travel.

Christy Daily

Christy Daily grew up in a family-owned restaurant business in New Mexico where she built an early foundation in finance and accounting by serving and interfacing with customers and handling cash. As she learned correct business principles from her entrepreneurial father, Christy’s introduction and likeability to business and finance flourished as her career began to take shape.

She became a Certified Public Accountant in 2004 and earned her Masters of Accountancy degree from New Mexico State University in 1998. In addition, she is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She joined the staff of Tracy Jones CPA, LLC in 2016 and states that honesty and the highest ethical practices is the compelling cornerstone of the company.

Christy is qualified as an expert at tax planning and strategy, and individual and corporate tax, supported by her education and professional experience in both public and private tax accounting. Her warm and engaging personality is accented by being a wife and mother, and she puts the most inexperienced business owner at ease.

Christy is highly skilled and patiently imparts practical steps to avoiding a crisis, saying that maintaining accurate financial statements on a regular basis, not just at peak times, is the best plan.

Laura McQueen

Laura McQueen

It’s no surprise that Laura has a career in accounting because she’s a visionary problem-solver and looks forward to excelling in every assignment she’s given. “I like the challenge of clients’ books being messy,” she smiles.

Raised in Austin, Texas, Laura gleaned inspiration from her father’s career and earned two degrees simultaneously in a dual program from Stephen F. Austin State University. Her Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters in Professional Accountancy degrees were received in 2012. She is also a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and is in the process of becoming a CPA.

Laura has experience in financial statement audit and internal audit, as well as internal control consulting. She has been employed with Tracy’s firm since 2017 where she performs accurate monthly bookkeeping for recurrent clients, offers suggestions for improvements, and engages in some tax work, as needed.

Another area of Laura’s expertise is building books for clients from scratch and educating them about the importance of not relying solely on bank statements to make decisions, and maintaining account records.

In addition, Laura shares a common goal at the Company.

When she’s not hard at work, Laura relaxes by spending time with her husband and their loyal dachshund.

Susan Warkentin

Susan Warkentin

A native Houstonian, wife, mother, and grandmother, most of Susan’s education occurred in the town she knew best—Clear Lake City. With a prior degree under her belt, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree in 2001 from University of Houston, Clear Lake.

Susan directs, manages, and performs a wide variety of accounting and financial operations. She is a Certified Public Accountant who works to support her clients’ overall business objectives.

With an initial understanding of finance from a family-owned business perspective, her career began to evolve, eventually including 23 years of expertise in public and private accounting operations, financial reporting, business management consulting, and tax advisory services across a wide number of industries, with a specialization in construction accounting.

Susan enjoys interacting with each client and improving their knowledge about their accounting essentials.

“No question is a silly question,” she shares. “I’m here to shed light on what a client needs to understand.”

Clients recognize her for devoting a consistent, protective customer focus toward them.

With the team’s professional approach consisting of authentic interest in each client, qualified expertise, and the highest ethical code, Susan expresses her delight in being part of the company—

“That’s important to me and I want to support that!”

Susan and her husband enjoy traveling, CrossFit and playing with their grandchildren.

Thania Garcia

Thania Garcia

Interfacing with prospects and clients is a role that Thania* embraces wholeheartedly. As Client Relations Manager since 2019, she is the first employee to greet you with an engaging and warm welcome.

Originally from Galveston, she initially realized her skills in cultivating relationships through her family’s entrepreneurial enterprise. When she moved to Houston, she served as an administrative assistant.

"My background shaped me," she shares.

Likewise, Thania’s training serves the firm’s clients well. She puts individuals at ease as she patiently gathers facts and assesses their needs during conversations and an initial questionnaire. Her role continues as a liaison throughout their process and communication is always ongoing.

Thania adds that she is available to clients for any urgent and non-urgent needs and will do everything possible to assist them.

When asked what she would convey to someone calling the firm for the first time, she confidently replied—

"We are a knowledgeable firm and our priority is our client and their business. You made the right choice by calling us."

Mia Jones

Mia Jones

A native-born Mississippian, Mia’s interest in accounting was impacted by visiting a college at an early age—when she often accompanied her father to his academic workplace where he was employed as an accountant.

Both Mia’s degrees were earned in Mississippi; her Masters of Business Administration with a Management Concentration in 2008 from Alcorn State University in Lorman, and a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004 from Mississippi College in Clinton.

Since joining the staff of Tracy Jones CPA in June 2020, Mia serves in a trio of roles; an account manager for bookkeeping, a tax preparation specialist, and client advisory.

Previously, Mia contributed her skills to public accounting firms and oil and gas companies. As an audit associate and tax specialist, her talent and skills were recognized and she was promoted to senior audit associate at an established Houston corporation. In addition, she worked for the state governments of Mississippi and Texas as a controller and sales tax auditor.

Clients of Tracy Jones CPA can expect accurate reporting and compliance, which are chief principles and the highest priority, as Mia explains.

Mia is patient, optimistic and has a calm demeanor. She is loyal to her clients and builds a rapport and relationship with them based on trust.
